Purification and Enrichment Systems

ABSORPTION / DESORPTION BIOGAS PURIFICATION & ENRICHMENT TECHNOLOGIES

PECMA offered turnkey basis Biogas Purification and Enrichment system as per IS 16087:2016 and IS 15958:2012 standards.

Salient Features:

  • 100% CO2 removal with supported Amine sorbents (Absorption system with temperature swing as regeneration).
  • 100% H2S removal to produce CBG as per IS 16087:2016.
  • CBG/CNG production from Raw Biogas by PLC controlled.
  • Technology based on simultaneous separation of CO2 and H2S from Raw Biogas by amine system in CO2 absorber and CO2 desorption at low temperature.
  • CO2 removal based on specific sorbent chemical developed having high affinity of CO2.
  • Sorbent’s affinity to methane-Nil.
  • Regeneration of Sorbent Solution by Thermal Energy.
  • Bio-organic Catalyst developed in-house to increase stability to avoid periodic replacement as Amine sorbent has limited stability.
  • Bio-organic catalyst developed in house also retards metal corrosion.
  • Use of Bio-organic catalyst reduces the Energy requirements for sensible heat when switching between adsorption and desorption.
  • Specially, developed sorbents & Bio-organic catalyst retains heat effect during absorption due to absence of evaporating water in the absorber.
  • Historical and real time trending, Daily / Hourly Report generation having safety interlocks in PLC / DCS for automatic shut down of the plant in case of emergency conditions, PLC / DCS controller and SCADA software provided.
Salient Features of PECMA’s Chemical Absorption/Desorption Encapsulated Biological Catalyst (EBC) based Biogas Purification and Enrichment Process:
  • Enrichment of CH4 ≥ 98%.
  • 100% recovery of CO2.
  • 100% recovery of Elemental Sulphur.
  • Negligible % loss of CH4 in the process.
  • Very low energy consumption during desorption/stripping.
  • Less CAPEX & OPEX in comparison to other technologies.
  • Purification at low pressure & high flow rate.
  • Process flow & control fully automized with PLC & SCADA.
  • Low cost, low concentration, chemical absorbents are utilized.
  • Low recurring cost of chemical absorbents.
  • Very short processing time for higher capacity of raw biogas purification.
